Announcing the IEAC Softball Players of the Week February 12 - February 16, 2024 

STEPHANIE RUSSO | SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY COLLEGE | FRESHMAN
Stephanie had an outstanding performance this week, going 8 for 11 despite facing tough opponents. She demonstrated her resilience in a challenging week against two formidable teams early on, followed by a doubleheader against Grossmont College over the weekend, where SBVC secured their first two victories.

Against Palomar College, Stephanie went 1 for 2. Although she couldn't secure a hit in the game against Fullerton, she displayed impeccable defense both at first base and in right field.

In the first game against Grossmont on Saturday, Stephanie played a pivotal role in securing the 11-3 victory by going 3 for 3 at bat with a double, a run scored, 2 RBIs, and a stolen base, while also contributing with 4 outs of flawless defense. She continued her stellar performance in the second game against Grossmont, going 4 for 4 with 3 runs, a double, and another stolen base. 

Currently, Russo has the second-highest batting average in the state.

The second base freshman averaged .625 going 10 for 16 with 4 RBI’s. Gomez came up with huge key moments throughout the week.
