Angelina Bowder, sophomore setter, Mt. San Jacinto College
Bowder has taken on a new role of being a 6-rotation setter and doing a great job of running the offense. Bowder has shown great leadership and was recently named team captain. In the first week of play, her numbers were 131 assists, 42 digs, 10 aces, and 2 blocks and 4 block assists.
From coach Haney: “I am very proud on how Angelina has taken on her lead role for this team and how much I have seen her continue to grow.”
Grace Hoang, sophomore libero, Chaffey College
Hoang has accumulated 43 digs (4.3 digs per set), 9 aces, and 7 assists in 3 matches. She has played a big part in the Chaffey serve receive game and always provides her team with the best pass possible. Hoang demonstrates leadership in the back row and communicates with her teammates constantly. She is super quick on her feet and can read hitters very well, which allows her to pick up many digs. She also has an aggressive float serve which forces other teams out of system.
