IEAC Women's Volleyball Athletes of the Week 9/29 - 10/4

Juliette Rothe, Freshman Setter, College of the Desert  
Juliette has been the primary setter in every set played this season, amassing 518 assists (9.09 per set, #10 in State), and is currently #10 in Service Aces per set in the State with .86/set and #2 in State in total aces with 49. As a team COD has remained ranked #14 in State, #9 in SoCal for the past three weeks (13-4). These stats put her at the top of the IEAC in assists and aces, and she is #5 in Digs among IEAC players.

The Roadrunners are currently alone at the top at 2-0 in IEAC play. Juliette had a career-high 47 assists, as well as 2 blocks, 2 aces, and 16 digs in a hard-fought win at Cerro Coso to open league play on Wednesday, October 1st.

Coach Det Rothe: Juliette is a strong vocal leader and the heartbeat of the team on and off the court. Her natural leadership and drive enable her to excel both on the court and in the classroom. I’m very proud of the young person and floor captain she has become. “

 

Tamia Hardwick, Freshman Opposite Hitter, San Bernardino Valley College
During their match against Mt. San Jacinto College on October 1, 2025, Tamia was solid both on offense and defense. Hardwick  had 16 kills, hit .243, had 15 digs and 10 block assists in the 5 set win.  

Head Coach Robert Vansant: “Tamia has been getting better game after game.  Tamia has the skills and athleticism to be a force every match.  It is an absolute pleasure to coach a player that continues to improve and be an inspiration to her teammates.  Tamia has a winning attitude that carries over to her coaches and her team.”

 


HONORABLE MENTION:

Sophia Castro, Freshman Defensive Specialist, Mt. San Jacinto College

Libero Sophia Castro had a combined 28 digs in the Eagles two matches last week. A freshmen,  she shows more growth in her role each week. In addition to her outstanding defense she gives her hitters all the confidence by her exceptional ability to cover them when they get blocked.
