Right-handed pitcher Nathaniel Mendoza, outfielder Derek Bogh of San Bernardino Valley College along with Chaffey’s ace pitcher Elias Jauregui have been named the IEAC Baseball Players of the Week.
This is the second player of the week award for Mendoza and Jauregui.
Derek Bogh, a sophomore from Citrus Valley High School went 3 for 4 during their 4-1 victory against Chaffey College on February 27, 2020. Down 0-1 in the 7thinning, Bogh connected on a 3 run home run giving SBVC the 4-1 victory. Against Barstow College, Bogh turned in 3 RBI’s and a double. Against Mt. San Jacinto College, he reached base 3 times with 2 base on balls and a hit by pitch.
Nate Mendoza appears on the list for the second time this season. Mendoza, a right-handed pitcher out of Oak Hills High School threw 9 innings, giving up only 1 run on 6 hits with 6 strikeouts during their 4-1 win against Chaffey College.
Elias Jauregui turned in another solid performance against a tough San Bernardino Valley College baseball team over the weekend. Jauregui shout out the Vaqueros 1-0, turning in 7 strikeouts, 1 walk, and allowed only 4 hits.
Jauregui continues to dominate the stats board. Through the season, he has a 1.98 ERA, 36 innings pitched, 7 walks, and 52 strikeouts which currently leads the state.
