SANDOVAL AND CUMMINGS ANNOUNCE TRANSFER PLANS

SANDOVAL AND CUMMINGS ANNOUNCE TRANSFER PLANS

Congratulations to Panther baseballers Josh Sandoval and Alex Cummings on their recent transfer announcements.  The freshmen will be continuing their academic and athletic journey on the west coast with Sandoval joining the Western Oregon University Wolves and Cummings going to CSU Stanislaus.

Head Coach Andy Smith announced the transfers on twitter saying, "Sandy" has developed into a quality LHP, a quiet, confident competitor, and will make an immediate impact for the Wolves.  Alex led our league in RCS this spring and was another outstanding team captain of ours. We are so proud of & happy for these guys!"

Sandoval, a lefthanded pitcher, came to Chaffey from Etiwanda HS and gave the Panthers 7 saves this season.  Cummings, out of Jurupa Valley HS, was the Panthers' lead catcher behind the plate 25:40 games and racking up 17 hits including 3 homers.  Both Cummings and Sandoval were members of the 2020 team that had their season ended by the COVID lockdown.
