The MSJC men's golf team opened the season on Sunday and Monday at the Point Conception Open at La Purisima Golf Club in Lompac, finishing 9th out of 20 teams entered in the event.

Evan Freeman who shot 83 on Sunday and 82 on Monday had the highlight of the young season in his second round as he carded a hole in one on the 9th hole at La Purisima.  Freeman's two day total of 165 was third best for the Eagles who sent 6 golfers to Lompac.  Kyler Sargent put up the low total of the event for the Eagles as he shot rounds of 83 and 79.  Connor Pierson was consistent as he put together scores of 83 and 81, while Jordan Medlock struggled some on day one with an 87, but came back to shoot a 79 on Monday.  Micah Stewart 85-90 and Cade Lenarth86-90 rounded out the scoring for MSJC.

The Eagles will be back in action next Monday February 3rd when they travel to Candlewood Country Club.
