SBVC capture title crown, three-peat completed

The San Bernardino Valley College men’s cross country team are champions once again, claiming their third consecutive Inland Empire Athletic Conference crown. This also marks the 25th title in 26 seasons (across 3 conferences) for the SBVC cross country program. 

This years championship, held at Norco College, combined competitors from both the Inland Empire Athletic Conference and Pacific Coast Athletic Conference. One of the primary reasons for running alongside the PCAC competitors was to bring out the best competition amongst each other. 

SBVC turned in a team time of 1:54.33, had six runners finish in the top 10, giving them 24 points to edging Chaffey College with 38 points. 

Leading the way for the Wolverines was Jake Caliva who placed second with a 22:28.8 time. Dennis Cordova finished fourth, posting a time of 22:50.7, with Arian Mayorga crossing at 22:55.9, and Chris Valderrama right behind at 22:57.7. Fercis Torres finished seventh at 23:19.2 and Joseph Gaitan finished eighth at 23:34.6.

The team will now prepare to travel to Kern County Soccer Complex in Bakersfield, CA for the Southern California Championships.
