SOFIA GONZALEZ | SBVC
Had a long week pitching in all 5 games for San Bernardino Valley College. Sofia collected 2 shutouts for the week one against number 10 ranked Antelope Valley College and one against Chaffey College. She pitched a total of 23 innings striking out 16 batters and giving up 22 hits and 10 runs. In the first game against AVC, she shut down the powerhouse bats by giving up only 3 hits and striking out 5 of their batters in 7 innings. In the game against the college of the desert, she only gave up 4 hits and struck out 2. In the first game against Chaffey, she struck out 7 batters. In the second game smash and for the series win against Chaffey Sofia struck out 1 and only gave up 3 hits in five innings. Sofia has been one of the bright stars on this team that is now starting to really shine through. Sofia is currently 25th in the state for strikeouts with 86  and 32nd in the state for strikeouts per game 5.68. Her final conference era is 2.40.
