Mt. San Jacinto College Women's Basketball Coach Chris Mozga has stepped down from his position after 18 years (17 seasons), he will remain at MSJC as the school's Sports Information Officer.  

During 17 seasons at MSJC Mozga's teams amassed an overall record of 418-105 and a mark of 183-34 in conference games.  His teams won 10 conference championships and appeared in the CCCAA State Championship game twice.  The Eagles won the school's first team State title in 2018.  The program has averaged over 24 wins a season during Mozga's tenure and has qualified for the State playoffs 16 straight times.   Over the past 10 years, MSJC boasts a record of 265-44, which includes three 30-plus win seasons.  Mozga has a career mark of 438-114 in women's basketball, he also has 102 wins as a men's California Community College coach.

Mozga has had many outstanding players throughout his time at MSJC.  Since 2006 over 60 players have signed scholarships to four-year schools, 21 have been honored as CCCAA All-State selections, and 11 have been named Conference Player of the Year.  Former Eagle Britney Thomas became the first woman ever to win the CCCAA Southern California State Player of the Year honor twice.

"It's always the players that make a program and we've been blessed over many years, through the hard work of our assistant coaches, especially my wife Fontay, to attract quality young women to our institution," said Mozga.  "We have always strived to give our student-athletes the full college experience on and off the floor." 

"We have also been very fortunate that our leadership, especially our Dean and Athletic Director Patrick Springer has been progressive and aggressive in providing our student-athletes with the tools they need to be successful in all areas of college life."
