Lady Rams Basketball Earn Share of IEAC Conference Championship

In an overtime thriller the Victor Valley College Lady Ram basketball team beat the Mt San Jacinto Eagles 69-64, to capture a share of the Inland Empire Athletic Conference Championship. This is the second IEAC Conference title in three years for Coach Troy Hall and the Lady Rams. 

The game was intense from start to finish, with both teams putting up a strong fight. The Lady Rams trailed late in the 4th quarter before Ebony Black-Smith made the game tying bucket with 2 seconds left on the clock to send the game into overtime. Once in overtime, the Lady Rams never looked back as they scored the first basket in overtime and never trailed from that moment. 

Victor Valley's Ebony Black-Smith led the way with an impressive 29 points 15 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Karoline Ellison added 6 assists to help secure the win. Both Moriah Burley and Aaliyah Wright added some timely free throws to close out the game in the extra period. 

The game was marked by strong defensive play from the Lady Rams, with Victor Valley forcing 21 turnovers. Ultimately, it was Victor Valley's ability to capitalize on their opportunities that made the difference in the end.

The victory for Victor Valley will surely give them a confidence boost as they await their playoff seeding this Sunday February 25th.
