Soccer Players Taking Game to Next Level

Soccer Players Taking Game to Next Level

Two members of the San Bernardino Valley College women's soccer team made their future plans official Tuesday during a ceremonial signing event.

Samantha Ramirez and Sarina Castillo gathered with their teammates for an event celebrating their decision to continue playing at the four-year level this fall.

Ramirez, a forward who attended Riverside's Hillcrest High School, will be continuing her soccer career and education at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Ramirez was a first-team All-Inland Empire Athletic Conference selection during the 2023 season. In 2023, she scored six times while adding one assist. In her two years at SBVC, she tallied 14 goals.

Castillo was a member of SBVC's defensive squad that only allowed 34 goals during 2023. A graduate of Jurupa Valley Patriot High School, Castillo posted three goals and one assist in her two years at San Bernardino Valley. She will be continuing her career at Greenville University in Illinois.
