The Sports Center erupted last night as the Panthers claimed their first IEAC championship with a 3-1 win over Desert.  The Panthers have had an awesome season, setting numerous individual records, leading conference, regional and state stats, defeating 21 teams to become the winningest team in program history, and claiming Chaffey's 5th conference championship (1st IEAC).  

Last night, the Panthers were led by sophomore OH Kendall Mency with 23 kills and 15 digs.  Mency leads the conference in kills, kills/set, and service aces.  She is currently ranked #7 in the state for kills/set and will likely break 700 career kills as the Panthers head into the postseason.  Mency along with her fellow sophomores Cecilia White and Juliana Hernandez were honored at last night's sophomore game.  White, who leads the conference in assists/set is currently ranked #2 in the state.  White has amassed over 1,700 assists in her two seasons with the Panthers.  Against Desert, she added 41.  

The Panthers share the inaugural IEAC championship title with Mt San Jacinto and College of the Desert with all three teams finishing the conference season 8-2.  The Panthers have the highest overall record of the three teams, with a winning percentage of .875, the highest RPI (.595), and is the only CCCWVCA ranked IEAC team.  This was Coach Gonzales-Harwell's first conference championship since joining Chaffey in 2017.  Last year, the Panthers were narrowly edged out by Pasadena for the SCC title.
