Panthers dominate Valley in conference opener

The Panthers opened the Inland Empire Athletic Conference season tonight at home dominating San Bernardino Valley and taking the match 3-0.  

In set 1, the teams came out fairly balanced with the score bouncing back-and-forth within a two point spread.  The set eventually went to Chaffey 25-23

In sets 2 & 3, the Panthers completely outpaced Valley taking it 25-16 and finally 25-10.

Sophomore Emily Robbins commanded the court putting up 11 kills and 7 digs.  Currently, Robbins in 2nd in conference for kills (152) and averaging 2.71/set.  Alicia Gurrola added 7 kills and 11 digs.

Haley Jimenez is currently ranked #7 in the state for blocks and leads the conference in hitting percentage and blocks per set.

The team plays the next two on the road and returns home to take on LA Pierce on October 11th.
