Panther Football American Division Champions

The Panthers capped off their record breaking season with a 33-20 bowl win Saturday at San Bernardino Valley.  The win gives Chaffey their first "perfect season" in recent history and the title of longest consecutive winning streak in the state at 21 games.

Saturday, the Panthers held San Bernardino scoreless through the first half of play taking a commanding 13-0 lead into the locker room break.  Devan Imbach carried the ball across the line just three minutes into the game.  Nick Lawson earned his fourth perfect game going 4/4 field goals and 3/3 extra points.  Three of Lawson's field goals came in succession (44, 33, 24) taking the Panther lead to 16-0 into the third period. The Wolverines got their first points on the board from a 3rd period 52 yard pass closing out the period 16-7.  Less than a minute into the final period, San Bernardino scored again closing the gap to two points.  Chaffey answered back as Tavoi Hochinggrabbed a 17 yard pass from game MVP Caleb Arreola.  SBVC scored again minutes later but a failed PAT put the Wolverines at a three point deficit.  The Panthers closed out the game with a 32-yard Arreola to Shakell Brown followed by a final 24-yard Lawson fieldgoal.

This was the Panthers' second consecutive bowl win and the third for Head Coach Rob Hadaway.  In addition to Arreola's MVP honor, Nick Lawson was named player of the game.

The Panthers finish the 2019 season 11-0 including a no contest decision.
