Panther Football Opens Season at Home September 4th

Panther Football Opens Season at Home September 4th

After more than a year, the Panthers are BACK ON THE PROWL!  The 2021 Panther Football schedule was released today and includes five home contests beginning with Citrus College on September 4th.  This season should be an exciting one for fans; not only have we been away from Grigsby Field for 21 months BUT this season the Panthers have reconferenced to the highly competitive National Central Division to take on longtime foes Mt SAC, RCC along with Cerritos, Palomar, and El Camino.  In the pre-season, Chaffey faces off against Southwestern, East LA, Ventura, and Long Beach as well as the season opener against the Citrus Owls.

"It'll be interesting to be back on campus after such a long break and start working players out.  Our first priority is conditioning and getting everyone in peak shape for the season," said Head Football Coach Rob Hadaway.  "We're starting over but we're hitting the ground running and we're excited to be back out there with our players and coaches."

The move to the National Central Division acknowledges the success the Panthers have realized in their past two seasons.  Coach Hadaway and the Panthers are no strangers to this level of play; last competing in the National Conference in 2017.  Prior to the COVID-19 shutdown, Chaffey College maintained the longest winning streak in the state having won 20 games in a row and claiming two bowl championships.  Thirty members of the two conference championship teams have since transferred to four-year universities throughout the United States.
