Panther Softball earned their 3rd consecutive conference title with two wins at Victor Valley yesterday and end the regular season 10-2 IEAC and 19-17 overall. Head Coach Jerry Tivey has led the Panthers to three championships in his three complete seasons at Chaffey. As conference champions, the Panthers will enter the 2024 3C2A regional playoffs on May 3rd with an opening weekend home series likely. Post season honors will be announced by May 1st.
The Inland Empire Athletic Conference softball champions are headed to a play-in championship game against Moorpark College. The 17th seeded Panthers will travel tomorrow to face #16 Moorpark College.
COD (12-26) concluded the 2022 season, by honoring seven sophomores and then by shooting down the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles of Menifee (11-20) in five innings, 10-2.
Panther Softball needed back-to-back wins yesterday afternoon to close out the 2022 IEAC season with their first title since 2016 and that is exactly what they did. The Panthers shutout College of the Desert 8-0 in a walkoff 5-inning game and then followed up with a 12-1 victory to seal their championships season. The team finishes the IEAC season 12-3 bringing home the college's 10th conference championship.
